This is a fun short-game challenge to play by yourself or in a competition with friends. It’s 20 – 30 minutes of practice you’ll enjoy. And while practice might not actually make perfect, it will make your short game better.
Design your own course, but make a challenge with 3 easy shots, 3 medium difficulty and 3 difficult shots. In our example above, the difficult shots (7, 8 & 9) represent a lob shot, a bunker shot from a lie with a high lip to get over and a longer greenside bunker shot. Those of medium difficulty (4, 5 & 6) are represented by a longer pitch shot (30 yards), chip shot and pitch shot from the rough. The easy shots are two chip and runs (ideally across different slopes) and a standard bunker shot. ?
Making golf fun, turning skills improvement into fun
Golf doesn’t have to be 18 holes and 4+ hours. Find a few friends, come down after work, and set up a competition around a practice area that might take only 30 – 45 minutes. You’ll have great fun in an environment where each shot counts. It’s better than slogging away on the treadmill. It’s more fun than pushing weights. And it’s certainly a chance to extend friendships.
Playing these sort of competitions will also pay off when you’re out on the course. They’ll help with your skills and help with your confidence. Remember, if you’re unsure about technique, then contact us.
